Getting it to the shop ….

I didn’t get any pics while unloading the jointer but I can tell ya it was a pain.  We transported the jointer to the shop on a trailer that I borrowed from a friend.

The jointer weighs over 1600 pounds, to heavy to just muscle around, so to unload it we used a cherry picker to lift it off of the trailer a couple of inches and then my wife drove the truck forward, driving the trailer out from under the jointer.

When then placed a pallet on the ground and placed several pieces of 1 inch black pipe under the pallet and then lowered the jointer onto the pallet.  Once it was on the pallet we were able to roll it down the concrete slab, leap-frogging the pipe under the pallet, and into the shop’s overhead door where it will sit during the restoration process.
